That the printers of red injection have been relegated by the equipment multifunction, is already a fact. And that the photographic quality every day prevails more, also. For that reason now those are the equipment multifunction that reach photographic quality and, to obtain it, the manufacturers do not doubt in installing systems of six inks like the employee in this Canon Pixma MP980.
The first printers of six inks used the additional cartridges to incorporate tones of back water, magenta and yellow clearer, getting to do without the black. This caused that very good gradations of color were obtained, but black and grays that did not finish satisfying that they looked for photographic quality in black and white.
In this Canon model it has chosen to concentrate in the black and white one, since for the color images already an excellent quality with four habitual inks is obtained. Thus in the MP980 the habitual deposits can be installed back water, magenta, yellow and black, and it adds to a second photographic black deposit and another one of gray red. All the inks, except for the black for texts, are ChromaLife 100+ and they are distributed in independent deposits of 9 ml. The black for texts is of greater capacity: 19 ml To the being independent the deposits, optimize the advantage of the red, because it will only be necessary to change that one that is run out. An interesting detail is the signaling of each cartridge by means of a LED that blinks quickly if it is exhausted, or more slowly if it has left little red.
