Si prepara un'estate calda per Nikon: abbiamo riportato dei preparativi per l'arrivo delle eredi di Nikon D700 e Nikon D3 per il 24 agosto e di come una settimana prima circa sono attese novit in ambito compatte Coolpix. Le prime voci hanno dato due prodotti sul piatto: una ipotetica seconda uscita dotata di proiettore, con probabile appellativo P1200pj e l'erede di Coolpix P7000, compatta premium che ha mostrato qualche difetto di troppo nelle prove sul campo.
Proprio attorno a questo modello si addensano le attenzioni dei cacciatori di indiscrezioni: uno dei rumor riporta la presenza del display orientabile (forse in un solo senso, come su Coolpix P100) sul retro della nuova Nikon Coolpix P7100 , mancanza a cui Canon aveva prontamente posto riparo con G11 e poi G12 quando l'uscita di PowerShot G10 aveva lasciato deluso pi di un utente. Anche in questo settore la nuova Coolpix dovrebbe tornare ad avere tutte le carte in regola per gareggiare al top del segmento compatte premium.
