Shooting Challenge: 18 Retrotastic Shots

I took this shot with my iPhone 4.

It’s spring time at the moment in Sydney, and all the trees are blossoming. This particular tree was really captivating to me because it has red leaves. But the position of the tree was actually in a very awkward position on the side of the road. So when I decided to take the photo, I had to wait for the cars and vehicles to pass and for the road to clear, because I have to be on certain distance to the tree, which put me in the middle of the street. The electricity cable and other trees were on my frame too, so I had to find the best angle to take the shot.

After I got my frame, I came back into my car, and I cannot wait but to edit and post the photo to Instagram straight away. No lens, no ISO setting when I’m using my iPhone 4. The photo that is taken by iPhone 4 is quite amazing. I used several applications to enhance the colour, adjust the exposure, apply the colour balance to get that old look. I added a few effects on the border and on the surface to get the feeling that I want.

I was thinking of buying a Nikon Speedlight SB800, but I've read is interrupted?

the best is the SB 900? Should I continue looking for an SB800 or is best to comply with the sb900?

Yup the SB800 Speedlight no longer sold as new. SB800 You can pick up second hand on eBay. The SB900 is its replacement and its a doozy (but quite expensive!). You can read a chip Nikon Gels and automatically correct color, can be extended to a wider range of SB800 (think its 200 mm) and flash can be set in different ways the "spread" as the center, including the ground and different coverage. It has a slightly larger shoe for fixation of some modifiers (such as light boxes, need a special assembly SB900). As with the SB800 can act as a flash as master and slave optical dumb in SU-4 mode. You may also want to consider the SB600 as a cheaper option. Can work with Nikon Cls system (like the SB800 and SB900 of course), it lacks a PC sync port, and can not act as a master flash or an optical slave (SU-4).
