Panasonic FX700 given (the equivalent 24-120mm, 35mm) 5x objective, f/2.2 (highest position) that can allow much better light to take pictures without flash. Same price Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 has a 12x lens (equivalent 25-300mm, 35mm), but you can only open af/3.3 in the widest position. Large aperture (smaller f-stop number) means you can drop parameters such as sensitivity to light, or pull down ZS7 in the same light sensitivity (lower ISO speeds produce better image quality.) 3-inch touch screen is very sensitive, such as capacitive screens (the type used in high-end smartphones). Canon S4000 uses a resistive touch screen, which requires little pressure to push each virtual key, while the FX700 pressing just need light.
