Olympus E-PL1

Olympus' stable of Micro Four Thirds cameras consist of the E-P1 and E-P2 . Today, this range expands by one more, the E-PL1. Although the E-P1 was targeted at shutterbugs looking to upgrade from a point-and-shoot to something more sophisticated, its price (S$1,299 (US$923.37) with kit lens) was a deterrent for some. The E-PL1 will address this issue. The new Olympus Micro Four Thirds model is the first sub-S$1,000 (US$710.83) shooter in this class of interchangeable lens systems shooter. (We excluded the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 as its launch price was S$1,299 (US$923.37).)

The E-PL1 is a marriage of the E-P1 and E-P2, with certain compromises made in view of the lower price. Its redesigned chassis and new button arrangements are kept to a minimum, which makes it easier for point-and-shoot users to adopt.
