The Samsung EX1 Compact Digital Camera is Excellent for Travel ...
Quarter of 2010 designed as a compact digital camera that would appeal to the serious amateur and be a pocket camera assistant to even a pro in his down time. This is one compact that has been built and equipped to a high standard and will capture excellent quality photos.
Technically, the EX1 has a Schneider Kreuznach F1.8 ultra wide 24mm lens with 3 x optical zoom and works with the EX1′s1/1.7″CCD sensor. The sensor is larger than what one may typically find in a compact and with the fast lens enables the EX1 to capture sharp and well defined shots in any conditions especially in low and murky light. Photos are captured in 10 megapixel resolution and saved in JPEG or SRW Raw format and video is recorded in VGA resolution which can be played back and edited on the excellent rear mounted LCD screen.
Although the EX1 is not the smallest of compact digitals on the market and is also not the cheapest, it also doesn’t record video in HD or have the highest resolution, it does however, produce stunningly vibrant sharp images that make it ideal for travel and portrait shots thanks to the versatile lens and processing software.
The EX1 has created some stiff competition to the Canon S90 and S95 and certain models of the Panasonic Lumix range with little to choose between them except the price. The advice is to compare the EX1 specifications and features against its rivals then choose and buy online for the best deals.
